4 Months Old

4 Month Stats:

Weight: 15 lb. 7 oz.

Height: 25 in.

Head: 16 1/2 in.

Our baby is 4 months old! This month has brought on big changes! The biggest is that I have gone back to work, and Lawson is going to a babysitter ever day (more on that later). He has started doing lots of new things. He rolled over a few weeks ago. He is mimicking us, when we blow raspberries, he blows them back. It is the cutest thing! He laughs and smiles constantly. He now enjoys "playing" with toys. He loves being read to. Daddy has been reading him western books! He also explores and wiggles a lot more these days!

You've got to love those milestones!

A couple of days ago I realized that Lawson was really close to rolling from his back to his stomach. He would roll onto his side and almost get himself kicked over.

So last night I laid him on a blanket on the floor of his bedroom while I got his bath ready. When I peaked into his room, he was on his side so I yelled at Jarrett to get out of the bathroom and come watch. We watched for a good while and had almost given up when Lawson finally kicked that leg over and was laying on his stomach. We were excited to get to see him do it for the first time. It is so fun to watch your child grow and learn new things.

Vacation 2010

The week of July 4th mom and dad treated us to a vacation on Galveston Island. Our original plan had been to go to Orange Beach, AL but because of the oil spill we had to change our plans. I was pretty bummed since I had been to Galveston a bunch of times and had in my mind that it was dirty. However, I was pleasantly suprised and we had an amazing vacation! We found a resort on the island called Pointe West and it was amazing. It had an infinity pool that overlooked the ocean and felt kind of "mexican resortish" minus the turquoise water. There were trails that we all rode bikes, scooters and walked on. The weather was perfect and we had a great time on the Seawall for the 4th of July fireworks. Moody Gardens

I loved watching the three boys together.

It was our first vaction with the ENTIRE family (mom, dad, Aaron, Ashley, Abram, Asher, me, Jarrett and Lawson) and it was a GREAT 7 nights!

3 Months Old

Lawson has changed so much in the past couple of weeks. He has completely lost the "newborn" look and looks just like his daddy right now. He has doubled his birth weight and continues to grow like crazy. He loves to stick out his tongue, kick his feet, suck on his hands. do sit ups (raise his legs up) and he smiles constantly. He loves to laugh and coo and "talk" to mommy and daddy. He takes amazing naps usually a long one in the morning and then another long one in the afternoon and he has been sleeping through the night for the last two weeks!! He usually falls a sleep around 8 and then I nurse him at around 10 and he goes right back to sleep until 7:00 or 8:00.

2 Months Old

Lawson turned two months old yesterday. I know they say it goes by fast, but man I didn't realize it would be this fast! In honor of turning 2 months, Lawson slept through the night for the third time! 10pm-6am Woo-hoo! He actually did wake up at 4:30 but instead of nursing him I decided to try a pacifier and it worked, he went right back to sleep. Other new things in his life are chubby cheeks and chunky thighs, and I love both. He is holding his head up pretty good and smiling all the time. His smile makes this momma melt!

On Monday he had his two month well check along with his first round of vaccinations. The shots weren't bad at all, but the rest of the day was very hard. He felt terrible, and due to the recall of Infant Tylenol, I couldn't find anything for his pain. I went to four different stores until I finally found an off brand of Motrin for 6 months and up. Once we gave him some of that, he was back to our sweet baby boy. Thank goodness! It just broke my heart to see him in so much pain. Here is a picture of him with his band-aids.

Sleeping Through the Night

The only part about Lawson being a newborn that I have wished would change and hurry up and get here is him sleeping through the night. Well.....last night he slept from 10:30 until 5:30 this morning. He is 4 weeks and 6 days and slept for 7 hours straight!! I started waking up at 2:30 a.m. and I am pretty sure I checked on him every hour until he finally woke up. It is crazy because as much as I wanted the sleep, I sure did miss our time in the middle of the night.

I know this may not happen again for a while, but at least I know that it is possible!
