27 1/2 Weeks

Today I had my last doctors appointment of my 2nd trimester. I am now officially entering the third trimester and will be visiting the doctor every 2 weeks.

So about the appointment, let me just say that my doctor is great. She is sweet and she explains everything so thoroughly and she is just real and honest. Anyways, she took my measurement and we listened to Lawson's little heart. It was at 165 bpm. I also had blood drawn for the gestational diabetes testing and anemia testing. I had to drink this yummy fruit punch HA! 45 minutes before my appointment. Everyone had me freaked out that the drink was just awful, but it was not bad at all! Everything looks good so far, I will get the results back next week. I have officially gained 24 lbs, which isn't great, but isn't bad either. Pretty sure I can attribute some of this to all of the Christmas goodies!!! Or maybe it is my sudden craving for Chocolate Malts at Dairy Queen. Seriously, I have craved one everyday for the last week....and have given in twice already! The main pregnancy symptom I am feeling, other than largeness, is heartburn. I am having to stay away from the spicy foods that I love. But other than that everything is great, life is good!

Only 12 weeks to go!

It's no fun being sick AND pregnant

It is not fun being sick, but being sick AND pregnant is even worse!! Yesterday I had to miss work because the afternoon and night before I had been up sick. There could not have been an ounce of any food/liquid left in my body. I'm pretty sure it was some kind of stomach bug. Today, I decided to go ahead and go to work, mainly because I want to save my days up for when Lawson gets here, and also because I was way behind. It was a rough day, to say the least. I could barely concentrate and had a hard time eating anything. I even tried to drink a milkshake and couldn't get much of it down....trust me if I'm not able to eat, something must really be wrong!! Anyways, I'm feeling a little better now that I am home and resting. The only other crazy thing is that my heart rate is up to 105 and my heart feels like it is about to jump out of my chest. I called the doctor and she said this is a normal symptom on pregnancy and that it was nothing to worry about. And that it could have a little to do with being a little dehydrated. Although I am no longer worried, it is driving my crazy!! All of this really makes me appreciate the easiness of this pregnancy so far. I really don't know how people do it that are sick the whole pregnancy, you guys are some STRONG women!! I'm hoping after a good nights rest, I will be feeling better tomorrow!!
