9 Months Old

Weight: 19 1/2 lbs.

Height: 28 in.

Head: 17 3/4 in.

Diaper: Size 3
Clothes: 9 Month and some 12 month

Lawson is 9 months old and into everything! He has become a speed crawler and pulls up on everything he can reach. The tumbles and falls have quadrupled in the past 3 weeks. He says mamamam, dadadada and makes tons of sounds. He has eaten lots of different foods, but his favorite still seems to be oats and fruit baby food. He loves to feed himself and will make a mess feeding himself pieces of baked potatoes. He is down to nursing just before bed and in the morning...this has been harder on momma than baby! He is still an excellent sleeper and still has yet to be sick (I'm almost scared to type that). He has just started standing on his own, but just for a few seconds. He also will walk behind a push toy pretty well.

I've had the past 2 weeks off (I love working in education) and I've truly enjoyed every moment I've gotten to spend with him. He laughs so hard sometimes, smiles all the time and is the light of my life!

Christmas at Nanny's House

This past weekend we headed to Sugar Land for Christmas at Jarrett's Nanny's house. We had such a good time, especially watching Nolan and Lawson "playing" together. We even got in a trip to Pei Wei Saturday night with Jeremy and Stacy while Barbar and Nanny watched the boys.

Lawson opening his very first Christmas present.

Brothers less than 12 months apart in age, with their sons about three weeks apart in age.

Remembering the Little Things

I really want to remember the little things. Like as I type this, Lawson is at my feet, looking up at me and laughing hard and saying mamamama (I know he doesn't associate it with me, but I can pretend!).

There are so many little things that I don't want to forget...the whole reason for having a blog. Too bad I stink at updating it!! The cutest things he is doing at this time is dancing when music is playing and lowering himself after he has pulled up. He is so funny as he eases his little booty down to the floor. He also learned to climb stairs this weekend at his Nanny's house.

He is growing and changing so fast, I want to hold onto each moment.

Giving Thanks

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with our family. I am so thankful for the life God has given me and for the sweet husband and baby boy that I get to walk through life with.

Lawson tried his first "meat"...baby food turkey and rice. This face pretty much sums up how much he liked it! I think we will be skipping over the pureed meat product.

8 Months Old

Weight: Around 19 lbs.
Diapers: Size 3
Clothes: 6-9 months
Lawson is crawling like a mad man and just started pulling up on everything the day before Thanksgiving. Of course I missed it because I saw him trying, turned around to get my camera, and then turned to find him already standing.
He is eating like a champ! He nurses 2-3 times a day, takes 2 pumped bottles a day, and eat at least 3 jars of baby food, plus Mum-Mums, Puffs, and tastes of all sorts of stuff. His favorite food seems to be bananas.
Lawson smiles and laughs constantly and is a happy boy. I absolutely love being his mom, and look forward to each new stage of his precious life.

Meeting Nolan

Thanksgiving day was an exciting day this year. We got to meet Lawson's cousin (our nephew) for the first time. He is only three weeks younger than Lawson. This is Lawson waiting at the airport.
He was born in Japan since his dad, Jeremy, has been stationed there and has been overseas for the past 8 years. We headed to the DFW airport to be there when they landed. It was so much fun to see Lawson and Nolan together for the first time. Nolan is so full of personality and so cute!! It will be so much fun to watch them as they grow up together. Jarrett's mom was so happy to have both of her grandsons in her arms.

Trick or Treating and Formula

For Halloween we decided to have our friends over to our house for homemade chili, Frito Pie, desserts and trick-or-treating. Jarrett's mom also came down to be with Lawson on his first Halloween.
We had so much fun trick-or-treating this year. We only actually took Lawson to one house since he can't eat candy yet, but we had a great time going around the neighborhood with all of our friends.

In other news....Lawson took his first bottle of formula this weekend. Barbar fed it to him and he drank it right down. I've tried formula before, but this is the first time that he drank it. Still not sure if I am ready to completely wean him, but it's a start!

Mobile Baby

Lawson has started army crawling! It seemed to have happened over night. One day he couldn't get his chunky little legs up and then the next day he was ready to go! It is adorable and still a modified crawl with lots of belly scooting. We have had the best time playing with him on the floor and trying to get video of him. He can move pretty fast on his belly!

7 Months Old

Weight: Over 18 1/2 lbs.
Clothes: 6-9 months
Shoe: 3
Diaper: 3

This has by far been the quickest month of Lawson's life. Everyday he is doing more. He is moving all over the place and trying to pull up on furniture. He still isn't strong enough or tall enough, but he tries. He loves to grab my hands so that he can balance and pull up to standing. We bought a little table toy that he loves to stand at and play with. He is a great eater. He has three solid meals a day, two pumped bottles a day and nurses three times a day. His favorites are oatmeal, berry/banana stage 2 foods, and bananas stage 2 food. He has eaten "real" potatoes, sweet potatoes and avocado from our plates and he loves it. I look forward to watching him try new foods.

He is still an excellent sleeper. He hardly ever cries and is such a happy boy. He always smiles when strangers talk to him. I still can't believe he is over half a year old!

Costume Time!

We went to the annual Burgess costume party this weekend. This year it was also in conjuction with Tawona's 50th birthday (that's Ashley's momma).
We through our costumes together in about an hour. The final product was Tina Turner and her manager. We ended up taking Lawson to the party because we didn't have much notice so we didn't have time to get a baby sitter. Plus...I still don't like to be away from him at night and he doesn't like it either. The last couple of times we have tried, he cried a lot which is not like him at all!! I guess at night he's a little momma's boy, and I'm okay with that!

There was a costume contest and Ashley and Aaron stole the show with a Spartan's cheer that was well rehearsed and oh so funny!

The "Big" Boys Birthday party

Monday night we celebrated my brothers and Jarrett's birthday. Aaron turns 32 on October 17th and Jarrett turned 29 on September 30th. We combined the parties into one because we just couldn't find two different times to all get together, it is ridiculous how many things we have to squeeze into a week! I can only imagine how much busier it will be once Lawson gets a little older!

My mom cooked a yummy roast with all the sides and she made a fresh Pear Pie instead of cake since Jarrett doesn't eat cake (he's weird like that!).
It is always fun to get together with the entire side of my family. I feel blessed that we all live within 10 miles of each other. I love to watch Abram and Asher "love" on Lawson. And they all love playing with the toys at JeJe's house!

Asher was acting like a little baby, he is so funny!
Lawson playing like a "big boy". I look at this picture and can NOT believe how big he hasn't gotten! He was able to stand and play for quite a while with this toy. I still remember Abram playing with this same toy when he was a baby. It makes me sad that Abram is already in Kindergarten....I know the next time I turn around it will be Lawson starting Kindergarten. That makes me really sad!

Happy Fall

This past weekend Jarrett's mom came to stay with us for a couple of nights. We had a great time just hanging out. His mom watched Lawson while Jarrett and I got a couple of projects done around the house, so that was really nice.

Saturday morning his mom went with me to take Lawson to have his pictures made. Lindsay held a fall mini-session so we got Lawson dressed up and headed out for pictures at 9:30. Of course the first thing he does when we get there is spits up. He hardly ever spits up, but he had to do it right before pictures! Luckily it wiped off and didn't show.

He is going to be a puppy for halloween. Lindsay always does a great job, and although we could not get him to smile, she got some really great shots.

6 Months Old

Weight: 18 lbs. 3 oz.

Height: 26 1/2 in.

Clothes: 3-6 or 6-9 months

Diapers: Size 2

Our big boy is 6 months old. He has mastered sitting up and rolling around the floor to get to what he wants. He has started to really notice and play with toys and loves to interact with daddy and I. For the first time this month he has started to fight sleep on some nights. I've put him in our bed to calm him down and then put him back in his crib, but only a few times. Most nights he falls right to sleep, but sometimes he will just cry a little and then fall asleep. He has eaten all kinds of different vegetables and a couple of fruits. His favorite seems to be peas of all things! He gags quite a bit, but will keep eating the vegetables that he doesn't like. It is so funny! He even gagged on apple sauce!! He also loves oatmeal.

Eating a Mum-Mum...he loves them and it keeps him busy while we are eating.

Don't Mess with the Boys

Saturday my boys were watching football together. When I started taking pictures of them, they both looked at me like "Leave us Alone!"

Labor Day Weekend at the Cabin

We spent all of Labor Day weekend at my parents cabin in Broken Bow, OK. It is absolutley the most peaceful, relaxing place. We love to take weekend trips there to get away and relax. My parents came down on Saturday, and Aaron, Ashley and the boys came down on Sunday. We ate an amazing rib dinner on Sunday night with all the fixings and peach cobbler for dessert. I probably gained 5 lbs! We all went out in my dad's truck to look for deer on Sunday night. The big boys and dads sat in the back of the truck. I'm not sure if that is legal, but we never got above 30 mph, so they were pretty safe. There were deer everywhere.
Abram is a great little cousin. He loves to "take care" of Lawson. He is teaching Lawson about dinosaurs in this picture. I asked him if he wanted to be a teacher when he grows up, and he said "I already am. I'm teaching Lawson".
We had a wonderful time at the cabin, and are so blessed that my parents let us use it whenever we want.

5 Months Old

Weight: 16 1/2 lbs.

Clothes: 3-6 months

Diapers: Size 2

Lawson has grown so much this month. He smiles, talks and laughs. His legs have gotten so strong that he can hold onto the couch and stand on them. He is sitting up, but still a little wobbly. He still sleeps through the night and hardly ever cries.

He had his first cold yesterday, which was harder on me than on him I think! He mainly just had a snotty nose and a little fever. Today he got his first taste of real food at least real food other than breast milk!He loved it!

4 Months Old

4 Month Stats:

Weight: 15 lb. 7 oz.

Height: 25 in.

Head: 16 1/2 in.

Our baby is 4 months old! This month has brought on big changes! The biggest is that I have gone back to work, and Lawson is going to a babysitter ever day (more on that later). He has started doing lots of new things. He rolled over a few weeks ago. He is mimicking us, when we blow raspberries, he blows them back. It is the cutest thing! He laughs and smiles constantly. He now enjoys "playing" with toys. He loves being read to. Daddy has been reading him western books! He also explores and wiggles a lot more these days!
