Almost 36 Weeks

We had our sonogram today to see how big this boy really is. Basically right now he is about 6 1/2 pounds and is in the 91st percentile of weight for babies at this point in the pregnancy...I still have over 4 weeks until my due date!!

It was awesome getting to see him again. Here is a picture of his sweet face...with a hand over his eye. He was "practicing" his breathing which was cool to see. We could also see some hair on his head.
After the sonogram I had an examination, and we got to talk to the doctor about our options. She basically said that I will get examined in the next two weeks and during week 38 we will make a decision of what to do. She talked to us about our different options and about her prediction that the baby will be too big for my body to deliver if I go full term. We discussed the risks of a c-sections compared to a baby that is too big for my body. So Lawson will be here a week earlier than my due date one way or the other.

Belly Photo Shoot

We had so much fun doing maternity photos with our friend Lindsay. She is just now starting a photography business, but you would never know it because her pictures are really good. Here are a few of my favorites.

34 Week Appointment

Yesterday we had our 34 week appointment, I was happy that Jarrett was able to be there with me. I fully expected it to be like every other appointment before, and it started off that way. My blood pressure was good, and I have now gained a total of 34 pounds. However, when the doctor came in she just looked at my belly with a little bit of shock. Now it for sure has grown, but I didn't think it was bigger than normal. She took my measurements and I am measuring at 38 weeks!! As soon as she said that Jarrett's face turned red...I think he thought that meant we would be having the baby in the next week. She said either you have a very large baby boy or there is a lot of fluid in there. So we get to wait until next Thursday to have a sonogram and see how big this boy really is. I am excited, but a little panicked to think he may be coming sooner than expected. She also threw out the term c-section which really makes me nervous, but I'm not going to worry about it until we know more from the sonogram. So now I am counting the days until next Thursday when we will know something more, and in the mean time I'm getting as much ready as possible.

Snow Day and Valentine's Day

Unfortunately when it snowed in Lindale, I was in Austin at a technology conference. It was rainy and cold there, and I was working on Friday while everyone else was building frosty. Jarrett did take pictures for me so that I could see our house. It was beautiful!! There is a chance it may snow again on Wednesday, but I am not holding my breath.Valentine's this year was a little anti climatic. I told Jarrett that I didn't want anything, for some reason it just felt like another day. He did surprise me with flowers and chocolates and dinner at Julian's so it actually turned into a fun day!! We also went to Gander Mountain where he got a turkey call....my gift to him for v-day. Little did I know he would spend a large part of the afternoon practicing his call!!!

The Simple Things

As I surpass my weight gain goals and become more and more uncomfortable, I am trying to concentrate on the simple things that make pregnancy so wonderful.

I have to say the best feeling is Lawson moving inside my belly. It is an indescribable feeling. I love when I can feel him pressing out and sometimes I think he actually responds when I press back. He is moving constantly! It makes me wonder if this says anything about how his personality is going to be. Sometimes when it is just the two of us, I will rub my belly and talk to him and just become overwhelmed by how much I love him.

The second best feeling is when he moves around for his Daddy. I love for Jarrett to get to feel him going crazy in my belly. And Jarrett loves it to.

Although I am getting uncomfortable, I really am going to miss him being so close to me. I will miss those little kicks and that feeling like he is going to burst out of my belly. But I also can not wait until I can kiss his sweet face and actually get to look at and feel the little miracle that God has blessed Jarrett and I with.

27 1/2 Weeks

Today I had my last doctors appointment of my 2nd trimester. I am now officially entering the third trimester and will be visiting the doctor every 2 weeks.

So about the appointment, let me just say that my doctor is great. She is sweet and she explains everything so thoroughly and she is just real and honest. Anyways, she took my measurement and we listened to Lawson's little heart. It was at 165 bpm. I also had blood drawn for the gestational diabetes testing and anemia testing. I had to drink this yummy fruit punch HA! 45 minutes before my appointment. Everyone had me freaked out that the drink was just awful, but it was not bad at all! Everything looks good so far, I will get the results back next week. I have officially gained 24 lbs, which isn't great, but isn't bad either. Pretty sure I can attribute some of this to all of the Christmas goodies!!! Or maybe it is my sudden craving for Chocolate Malts at Dairy Queen. Seriously, I have craved one everyday for the last week....and have given in twice already! The main pregnancy symptom I am feeling, other than largeness, is heartburn. I am having to stay away from the spicy foods that I love. But other than that everything is great, life is good!

Only 12 weeks to go!

It's no fun being sick AND pregnant

It is not fun being sick, but being sick AND pregnant is even worse!! Yesterday I had to miss work because the afternoon and night before I had been up sick. There could not have been an ounce of any food/liquid left in my body. I'm pretty sure it was some kind of stomach bug. Today, I decided to go ahead and go to work, mainly because I want to save my days up for when Lawson gets here, and also because I was way behind. It was a rough day, to say the least. I could barely concentrate and had a hard time eating anything. I even tried to drink a milkshake and couldn't get much of it down....trust me if I'm not able to eat, something must really be wrong!! Anyways, I'm feeling a little better now that I am home and resting. The only other crazy thing is that my heart rate is up to 105 and my heart feels like it is about to jump out of my chest. I called the doctor and she said this is a normal symptom on pregnancy and that it was nothing to worry about. And that it could have a little to do with being a little dehydrated. Although I am no longer worried, it is driving my crazy!! All of this really makes me appreciate the easiness of this pregnancy so far. I really don't know how people do it that are sick the whole pregnancy, you guys are some STRONG women!! I'm hoping after a good nights rest, I will be feeling better tomorrow!!
